My Obsession with the Ralph Eugene Meatyard Photography

I came across these presh potskins pieces of art and photography a few weeks ago, and I have been trying to find a place where someone sells them, or something because I am literally obsessed with them, and I don't know why. Maybe they just scream "Dark & Twisty" to me.

  1. When my husband was a child, Mr. Meatyard was his neighbor, here in Lexington, Ky, and one of his sons was my husband's playmate. Mr. Meatyard had a garage full of doll parts and other off-beat items he used for props. He often took his family, his masks and props, on day-trips around Central Kentucky, looking for abandoned structures, where he photographed them. He saw the world differently... no revelation in that, huh?

  2. Hello-- This post showed up in my goggle search for Meatyeard. I'm glad you like his work! I believe that the first three photos are by: Arnold Newman, Francesca Woodman, and Keith Carter.
